Canyonlands Maze Tours
Get ready to ride where very few mountain bikers ever get to go — deep into the backcountry of Canyonlands National Park on Magpie Cycling’s Maze MTB Tours, the ultimate multi-day desert mountain biking experience. This isn’t just cruising singletrack — we’re talking rugged jeep roads, technical terrain, epic climbs, and flowy canyon cruising through one of the most remote and iconic playgrounds in the Southwest, where every day brings new miles of red-rock views, boulder-strewn trails, and chances to drop into sketches of ancient cultures you’ll be telling your trail buddies about for years. Whether you’re chasing big desert lines, backcountry escape vibes, or bucket-list MTB adventure with expert support and route intel, the Maze delivers pure two-wheeled exploration like nowhere else on earth.
This most remote district in the Park offers an ultimate escape from your everyday world. Immerse yourself in the region where famous cattle rustlers and horse thieves such as Butch Cassidy and The Wild Bunch would hideout from the Law.
This trip is yours for exploring canyons, viewing ancient ruins, sleeping out under the stars, learning about the region's cultural and natural history and taking in spectacular views.
Our Maze DollHouse 6-day MTB/Hike Tour is designed for avid Mountain Bikers who also enjoy hiking, and want to see as much of this extremely remote region of Canyonlands National Park as possible in a 6-day period.
The riding will challenge your skills with miles of rugged jeep tracks, technical terrain, demanding climbs and all-out cruising. The hikes are all-day adventures that will give you an intimate appreciation for the rugged and intricate topography in the Maze.
This is an extensive overland journey by bike and foot that explores the most remote district of Canyonlands National Park - The Maze, a vast labyrinth of canyons and towers, contains remnants of multiple cultures that lived off the land in a now seemingly uninhabitable area.
Cycling The Maze in Canyonlands
We did a 6 day cycling and hiking tour of the Maze with Magpie. The organisation was excellent –great food, beautiful scenery, good leaders who are also biking instructors and bike mechanics. Apart from the biking and hiking they were also very knowledgeable about the history, the geology and the plant life of the area. All in all a great week!
